GRATIS Foundation recently concluded a three-day intensive training programme to sharpen the competencies of its technical and engineering staff in workplace safety and quality management.
The training, held from 25 to 27 March 2026 at the GRATIS Foundation Head Office in Tema, brought together technicians and engineering staff from across the organisation. The programme was designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and tools to uphold higher safety standards, minimise workplace hazards, and consistently deliver quality outcomes in line with GRATIS’ operational mandate.
Sessions were structured to be highly participatory, combining hands-on exercises with interactive discussions to ensure participants could immediately relate the content to their day-to-day work environments. Core areas addressed during the training included:
Protocols for managing critical incidents
Recognising and documenting workplace risks
Structured approaches to risk assessment
Maintaining standards across service delivery
Facilitated by
Mr. Joseph Darko
Training facilitator
Mr. Kenneth Ninson
Assistant facilitator
The training reflects GRATIS Foundation’s ongoing investment in human capital development and its commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing workforce across its 40 engineering workshop centres nationwide. By continuously building the capacity of its people, GRATIS reinforces its position as a leading public technical institution dedicated to operational excellence and appropriate technology promotion in Ghana.
